The Crime of The Lady in the Lake - Room 3:
The Flying Ducks room is located on the first floor of The Manor House at the top of the grand staircase and next to the shared family bathroom. You will share the modern, dual aspect, family bathroom (comprising bath, huge shower, basin, toilet) with ‘The Turquoise Plot’ and ‘The Random Treasure’ rooms.
Arguably the most beautiful bed here at Kington Grange it was originally gifted to the family looking like a pile of sticks (quite posh sticks!) and lovingly and skilfully restored to the glorious half-tester it is now by a favourite uncle.
One of the best bedrooms for afternoon light and views over the tennis court, swimming lake (more ducks), rolling countryside and sunsets.
Why is the room named Flying Ducks? It could be due to the view over the swimming lake, or thanks to the iconic Mulberry, art deco, flying ducks wallpaper, or maybe a nod to the ceramic flying ducks from the 1930s.
The huge, claret, built in wardrobe will hungrily swallow up plenty of luggage if you don’t travel light, or alternatively it’s a great place to hide a body, should the need arise…
